There are many factors to consider in choosing a gun holster. There are several types to choose from, each with unique advantages and disadvantages. But do you know the actual definition of the word gun holster so that you understand in reading sentences that contain the word. a gun holster is a sleeve (made of leather) in which a gun is inserted or stored. the use of the gun holster is to store the gun to make it safer and can be used directly when there is a problem of theft, crime or others and also according to fashion to make it look neat and attractive.

As for the types of gun holsters, there are various types as explained below:

Outside the Waistband

Outside the waistband (OWB) holsters are normally attached to a belt for fast, easy access. Most competition holsters are OWB holsters. The downside of OWB holsters is that they are the most conspicuous type of holster, although it is possible to conceal one with a long jacket.

Inside the Waistband

Like OWB holsters, inside the waistband (IWB) holsters clip onto the wearer’s belt, but the IWB holster is worn inside the pants for better concealment. You may find it more difficult to access your firearm with the IWB holster, resulting in a slower draw, although this can be improved with practice. Wearing a holster inside your waistband is also less comfortable, and you may need to go up a pants size to accommodate it.

Shoulder

If comfort is a priority, a shoulder holster is an excellent choice. This holster consists of a leather harness that wraps around the wearer’s shoulders and pockets on either side of the ribcage that holds firearms and, on some models, additional ammunition clips. Its main disadvantage is its visibility; it must be concealed underneath an outer layer of clothing. It is also not the best choice for ease of access, as it requires reaching across your body to draw your firearm.

Ankle

When it comes to ease of concealment, it’s hard to beat an ankle holster. This holster allows you to conceal a handgun underneath loose-fitting pants. This works best with smaller firearms; if you want to carry a larger handgun, this type of holster may not be ideal. It is also the most difficult type of holster to access, as it requires bending down to draw your gun.

You have many options when it comes to gun holsters. When making your selection, consider accessibility, comfort and ease of concealment to make the choice that best suits your needs.
